JOIN OUR CLASS AS WE EXPLORE INSPIRING FEMALE ROLE MODELS

Join girls from classrooms across the world as they learn about women from the past and present who have impacted our world. Who knows, perhaps your findings will inspire you to unleash the same perseverance and  strength of spirit these women have to make changes in your own world.

For this project you have been hired by She-roes, an organization that profiles strong women role models, to create a new line of dolls that will celebrate strong female role models of the twentieth century from all over the world. Your job is to chose a strong female  who has made a significant positive impact on your world, develop a concept for the doll, and then chose two activities that will profile your doll.

JOIN OUR CLASS!

She's Not Just a Pretty Face  is a telecollaborative project that will join middle school girls from around the globe in a collaborative learning venture that will help these students learn about women who have made a significant mark in history. From January 1st - December 31, 2005, participating classrooms will work on the project activities and then share their work by posting it on the project web site.

She's Not Just a Pretty Face  will engage students in purposeful activities that will hone their research and writing skills, their ability to transfer information into a creative/artistic medium, and their ability to articulate how their learning about strong female role models can be applied to their own lives. Students will have the opportunity to work with classrooms from across the world and to enter into a thought-provoking dialogue about how women can use their abilities and vision to make a difference in their world.  Those interested in joining She's Not Just a Pretty Face  should contact project coordinator, Brenda Dyck .
