Our School

Master’s is centrally located in one of the premier communities of the city. As an innovative K-12 school with a vision of going beyond academic excellence, our goal is to prepare students for the 21st century by equipping them to be seers, designers and creators of the future. We have gained international attention for our efforts to move education from the Industrial Age into the 21st century.

Master’s is a fully accredited school with the province of Alberta, and our students have consistently exceeded provincial standards for excellence on standardized tests. The vast majority (90+%) of our graduates gain acceptance into their university of choice.

Alternative Program

Palliser Regional School District

In 2008, Master’s Academy and College joined Palliser Regional School Division’s Alternative Program. The current agreement that establishes the alternative program between Palliser Regional School Division and Master’s Academy Educational Society (MAES) is based on the unique teaching philosophy and model called Profound Learning, and as a faith based Christian School in accordance with the School Act in Alberta. MAES is responsible for the ongoing research and development of the Profound Learning model as well supporting the implementation of the model at Master’s.

Christian Education

All schools teach from a worldview, whether explicitly or tacitly, helping to define life’s meaning and purpose for students. Master’s philosophy of Christian Education is to integrate the Christian worldview into the curriculum on a daily basis, and as such does not take the approach of having separate classes for religious education. Throughout the year various pertinent themes are addressed in special assemblies, which all students are encouraged to attend.

Our Governing Principles

As a school of Profound Learning, Master’s teachers are committed to the following fourteen principles so as to maximize the effectiveness in implementing the Profound Learning model.

Imaginal Education is an international network of non-profit tax-exempt organizations in Canada (charitable status is pending), USA and Brazil working closely together in bringing Profound Learning to the world. 

Our vision of transforming education both locally and globally is accomplished through our Imaginal Education network. Today we are working to transform schools in four continents.

Master’s rationale behind the Code of Conduct is to seek, through word and action, to create an environment of trust and mutual support in which each member of our community can grow.

The prohibited grounds of discrimination are set out in the Alberta Human Rights Act.

Student behaviour, whether or not it occurs within the school building, during the school day or by electronic means, must comply with Master’s respectful environment expectations. Any conduct, including all forms of bullying, that is injurious to the physical or mental well being of others in the school is unacceptable. The consequences of unacceptable, inappropriate behaviour, taking into account the student’s age, maturity and individual circumstances, will be determined by walking through the steps of conflict resolution and may result in suspension. The school will investigate promptly all reports and complaints of bullying, cyber bullying and retaliation and take prompt action to restore a safe learning environment for all students.

Each student is viewed as a unique and special creation of God and our school program aims to guide student development physically, socially, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. With this holistic approach to education we aim to instill an appreciation for the morals and principles of the Scriptures so that students can mature to a full understanding of their responsibilities as citizens and God’s creations.

There are many controversial issues we face on a regular basis, whether it be lifestyle, morality or questions around the origin and purpose of life. Students will be encouraged to engage in dialogue and seek to find understanding through Biblical principles. Master’s will approach these issues through the lens of God’s love for the world.

Master’s has an open admission policy, which means that a family does not have to have a particular religious affiliation, but all families entering Master’s must accept that we will teach from a Christian worldview.
