to the Community of Calgary

Many people have made significant civic contribtuions to the city of Calgary. A number of these people have been supporters of Chinatown by doing what they could to make sure there always will be an area of the city set aside to honor the Chinese culture and history in Calgary.

When it came time to buitld the Chinese Cultural Center in Clagary, much money was needed. Several individuals came forward to offer financial contributions. The following men helped the Chinese Cultural Center become a reality by donating a large sum of money to it's creation. To honor these Calgarians, the Center acknowledged them by naming the entry hall and auditorium in the Center after them.

I have also told about another person who spent part of his life making Calgary  better place to be.

The Chow Family also donated a large sum of money to the building of the Chinese Cultural Center in Calgary. The auditorium was named after them. Many different celebrations are held here.

Henry Fok donated $1,000,000 to build Calgary's Chinese Cultural Center. In appreciation, the entry hall of the Center was named after him.

George Ho Lem Sr. was a community leader (1921) and successful business owner in Calgary. His son George Ho Lem Jr. later became a well known city official in Calgary.
