In an effort to be proactive, the Government of Canada has established a special task force to debate the use of internment during national security crises. You have been selected to be part of a four person debate team to prepare an affirmative or negative stance on the resolution:

Let it be resolved that internment should be implemented during times of national security crises.

The outcome of this debate will help the government determine whether internment is the best choice of action when the security of the country is in jeopardy.

Your debate team will consist of four members. While all four members will research their position only two will take part in the debate. The group will decide which two members represent their team in the debate.

To prepare for the debate:

Watch a sample debate on the debate topic: "Torture is Justified During National Security Crises" (Canada vs. Latin America)- World Debate Institute 2003).

Read debate speaking tips and look at debate resources from the Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Association.

Use any of the links found in the links section of the project page.

The debate will be scored using a debate scoring rubric.
